Inside a tilted car after a quiet collision, the anonymous protagonist hangs against the seat while an upside-down blue sky fills the windshield.

The sound isn't what you'd expect.

In movies, car crashes are loud. Explosive. Metal screaming against metal.

This is quiet. A crunch. A shift. Your body goes sideways and then it doesn't go anywhere at all.

The last thing you see is the sky through the windshield, upside down, very blue.

The last thing you think is: I should have waved back sooner.

Then: nothing.

Not darkness. Not light. Just an absence so complete it has its own texture — the feeling of a hard drive being wiped, every sector zeroed, every bit returned to null.

And then—

Beeep. Beeep. Beeep.

The alarm.

The same alarm. The same wrong frequency.

You open your eyes.

Same ceiling. Same crack. Same water stain.

6:47 AM. Tuesday. October 14th.

Your hands are shaking. But the coffee maker is already running.
