Nexus Engine Dispatches
Matt and Blu in mirror Waseca: glitches, strange technology, and dimension breaches.

A second world beside the record
There is a real Waseca, with weather, public records, people, and consequences. Beside it, these Chronicles open a mirror Waseca: a parallel world where Matt and Blu work the Nexus Engine, investigate glitches, test strange technology, and find breaches between dimensions.
A sunshower can become a mismatched sky buffer. A major storm can echo as a dimension breach. An unfamiliar signal can send Blu down a corridor the street map never had. Girdy can arrive with a summoner’s answer to a problem nobody should have tried to solve with a screwdriver.
The story can be exuberant. The real event keeps its own record.
One event, several tellings
The event record keeps the date, place, official reports, observed outcomes, sources, and what remains unconfirmed. Forecasts are stored as forecasts; an observation is recorded with its time and location. Waseca city, Waseca County, and the wider southern Minnesota area are named separately when the source distinguishes them.
NLP News can follow the human impact: disruptions, rebuilding, memory, and the people affected. That requires reporting and its own editorial work. A saved weather source is a lead, not a finished impact article.
NLP Tabloid and the Carnival of NORMAL can take a satirical angle in their established voices.
Nexus Engine Dispatches takes the parallel-world adventure. The bridge to the event is named on the story, while the invented machinery, dialogue, characters, and explanations remain part of the fiction.
Those doors can connect without making the mirror-world Engine responsible for an actual storm or a real person’s loss.
The opening shelf
Dispatch 001 — The Sunshower Glitch begins with your idea: sunshine and rain arrive together, and Matt and Blu investigate a system that has tried to make the sky choose only one. It uses an imagined day rather than claiming a particular Waseca weather event.
Dispatch 002 — The Seam Beneath the Rain takes a documented September 2026 southern Minnesota flood as its real-world echo. The adventure happens in the mirror world, with an Engine seam, an experimental shelter system, and Girdy’s very particular interpretation of “technical support.”
The Weather & Event Record starts with two sourced regional events, including the September 18–19, 2026 flooding and the September 2016 Waseca-area flood. It is a starter archive, not a complete regional census or an ongoing alert service.
What a dispatch keeps
Each story carries an episode number, a title, its fictional setting, and an event connection. A story inspired by a recorded event points back to that entry. An imagined glitch says it is imagined. A later correction to a real record does not become a secret rewrite of a story; both retain their revision history.
The weather record belongs to history. The adventure belongs to the Nexus. The crossing between them is where this series begins.
The Sunshower Glitch
Imagined sunshower premise. No particular real weather event or date is claimed.
