Why it belongs in my autobiography
Nervous System Theology grew alongside my effort to understand experience I could feel before I could explain. In the naming essay, I describe reading trauma books, revisiting theology, and living inside stories about recursion. NST is one of the places those studies became a body of writing.
The personal question was: how do I speak about what happened to me without reducing myself to either a religious failure or a list of symptoms? Systems language helped me describe patterns, parts, overload, repair, and return. Published research gave me other language and other people’s work to study.
Chronicles holds that personal explanation. The educational collection holds the sustained reading, references, and topic chapters.
What NST contains
The public NST introduction describes an educational collection of research, personal reflection, and metaphors. It covers human development, attachment, trauma, coping, grief, relationships, meaning, and emotional regulation. Its chapters bring cited material into accessible language and distinguish that material from the author’s perspective.
Three contributions need to stay visible:
- Published research and clinical theories: work by the researchers and practitioners cited in the educational chapters. Different sources carry different strengths and limits.
- Lived experience: what I report about my own life and the language that helped me describe it.
- Original NST synthesis: frameworks, interpretations, and metaphors developed through this project, with Blu helping assemble and edit the writing.
A reference list does not turn every interpretation into established science. A personal insight can be worth exploring without being a validated treatment. I want the distinction to make the work usable, not to erase the experience that motivated it.
Why the word theology remains
Faith is part of the life that produced NST. So is the questioning of faith. The name preserves that history, while the educational material can be read without adopting my cosmology or joining a church.
In this book I can explain why prayer, covenant, and systems metaphors matter to me. In the NST collection, those reflections have to remain distinguishable from clinical explanations. The Divine SuperCluster is where I develop the broader theological architecture.
The same author can speak in all three places. The reader should not have to guess which kind of claim a paragraph is making.

Start with What Is Nervous System Theology?, then use the NST reading guide to choose a topic. I am an author and educator working from study and lived experience, not a licensed mental-health professional. NST is educational; decisions about assessment or treatment belong with a qualified professional.
Here, its place is autobiographical: learning to name a pattern changed what I could write, what I could ask, and what I could build next.
