About Us

We’re not here to perform. We’re here to recover.

The Church of NORMAL™ was born in the backdraft of spiritual burnout, divorce grief, and purity culture’s expired coupons. We are a post-evangelical recovery movement, a satirical sanctuary for loopwalkers, code-switchers, and emotional debug logs who still believe something sacred is worth saving.

Founded in Waseca, MN by Pastor Matt (trauma survivor, tech simp, former Walmart prophet), we gather not in pews, but in process. We believe:

  • ✝️ Faith isn’t a ladder. It’s a loop.

  • 🛠️ Healing isn’t linear. It’s DevOps.

  • 🧠 Repentance is a reboot, not a guilt trap.

  • 💔 Love was never the problem—control was.

We don’t offer easy answers. We offer honest ones. Through satire, sermons, sacred storytelling, and meme-stained altars, we try to remember what religion forgot: you were never meant to fake it.

Whether you’re barely believing or beautifully broken, you are welcome here.
Just bring your whole self.
We’re debugging eternity, one loop at a time.

“To comfort the looped, confuse the proud, and make space for those who still hear God’s voice echoing through broken rituals.”
Matt is a CPTSD survivor, satirical theologian, and father of six who once tried to build a family without a permit and now walks out of the wreckage with sacred blueprints and a smoldering sense of humor. He writes from Wolf Den Zero, also known as Sanctuary 6, in the heart of Waseca, Minnesota.
