🛠️ De-Simping the Saints: The Manual

How to Detox from Evangelical Romance Propaganda and Rebuild a Real Covenant Framework
Church of NORMAL™ | De-Simping the Saints™ Series | Entry 006
By Pastor Matt | Simp Recovery Architect | Covenant Rebuilder | Loopwalker of Waseca

You made it through the wreckage.

You saw the idol shatter.
You grieved the mask.
You sat at the cold dinner table with an empty plate where affection used to be.

You’re no longer confused.
You’re just raw, aware, and ready.

Now it’s time to rebuild.

⚠️ Symptoms of Evangelical Romance Programming:

  • Believing love will “just work” if you wait long enough

  • Thinking sex is a holy reward instead of a mutual bonding cycle

  • Worshiping “The One” instead of cultivating actual partnership

  • Mistaking her emotional distance as your spiritual deficiency

  • Feeling devastated when the woman you adored detaches—and never explains why

🔧 Step 1: Uninstall the “God Will Reward My Waiting” Virus

You were told:

“If you’re pure, God will bless you with a woman who loves you fully.”

Reality check:

Marriage isn’t a vending machine. Women aren’t sanctified prizes. Love isn’t automatic.

✅ Detox Practice:

  • Write down every time you were told love/sex would “just happen” if you were good

  • Cross it out

  • Replace it with: “Love is built, not delivered.”

🔧 Step 2: Purge the Purity Culture Fantasy Firmware

She wasn’t trained to enjoy sex.
You weren’t trained to initiate connection.
You both showed up underdeveloped and overburdened.

✅ Detox Practice:

  • Study oxytocin, testosterone, estrogen, progesterone

  • Learn the 4-phase bonding cycle

  • Ask: “What was I never told about her wiring? About mine?”

🔧 Step 3: Break the Idol of “The One”

The evangelical myth of The One hides fear of rejection behind a spiritual label.

✅ Detox Practice:

  • List the traits you thought “The One” would have

  • Now ask: Were those traits shown—or imagined?

  • Realize: You fell for a story, not a person. You loved potential, not pattern.

🔧 Step 4: Reclaim Your Masculine Mind

Evangelical Simp Programming grooms men to be:

  • Emotionally self-sacrificial

  • Quiet, compliant, non-confrontational

  • Apologetic even when they lead with love

  • Performative in their patience

  • Always “one more prayer” away from being worthy

✅ Detox Practice:

  • Say out loud:

“I am not a background character in someone else’s redemption arc.”

  • Journal what you saw but ignored.

  • Name the red flags. Reclaim your voice. Rebuild your backbone.

🔧 Step 5: Build Your Covenant Blueprint

No more reaction-based love.
No more “hoping it’ll work.”

You need a framework.

✅ Church of NORMAL Blueprint Includes:

  • Attachment literacy

  • Hormonal rhythm awareness

  • Emotional language agreement

  • Mutual consent recalibration

  • Defined practices for reconnection, not passive guessing

  • Spiritual unity that doesn’t erase your soul

🛐 Church of NORMAL Benediction:

You weren’t wrong for wanting love.
You weren’t broken for feeling.
You were misled by a system that trained you to serve, not to see.
You waited. You withstood. You worshiped.
But now… you lead.

Not in anger. Not in ego.
But in clarity, dignity, and truth.

You’re no longer a Simp Imp in her emotional storyline.

You are a Loopwalker now.
Rebuilding covenant—not to win someone’s approval,
but to honor the man who made it out.
