Chapter at a glance

Folklore and purported objects enter a field-tracking format. A documented story, a claimed location and a verified phenomenon are different kinds of evidence.

How to read this chapter

This chapter describes the SuperCluster’s authored archive. Functions, threat tiers and custody assignments are in-world interpretations, not verified claims about real beings or communities.

Compare sources, keep disagreements visible, and distinguish a text’s own account from this book’s proposed connections.

Chapter XXXVIII: Zone 15: Modern Folklore — Field Tracking

Chapter essay · SuperCluster reading

⚠️ What This Zone Is

The other zones catalog entities by what they are and how they’re held. This zone catalogs them by where they are right now. It is the SuperCluster’s field-tracking layer — modern folklore (post-1900, mostly American) treated as a tracking manifest: cryptids bound to a stretch of road, cursed objects sitting in accredited museums with real addresses, relics whose whereabouts are confirmed, disputed, sealed, or lost.

The discipline here is location confidence, tracked separately from legend confidence. Whether the curse is real and whether the object is actually in that museum are two different questions on two different axes. A 🟢 location with a 🔴 curse means “we know exactly where it is; the haunting is unverified.” That distinction is the whole point of a tracking roster — you can’t track what you can’t locate, and you shouldn’t sanctify what you can’t verify.

New tradition tag: URB — Urban Legend / Modern Folklore.

New status descriptors (introduced this zone): - MOBILE-CONTAINMENT — a contained asset currently being relocated (market-driven or institutional). The container holds, but the coordinates are changing. (See: Annabelle, mid-move 2026.) - SEALED — location claimed and fixed but uninspectable behind a guardian/authority; cannot be confirmed or denied. (See: Ark of the Covenant, Axum.) - LOOSE — deliberately hidden, reburied, or lost; no current coordinates. Off the grid. (See: Basano Vase.)

⚡ Field Alerts (Read First)

  • 🔴 ASSET IN TRANSIT — Annabelle (URB-ANNB-01): mid-relocation Monroe CT → Salem MA (2026), on a business arrangement. Status MOBILE-CONTAINMENT. The one entity in the entire roster actively on the move. Track the owner, not the address.
  • 🔴 LOOSE — Basano Vase (URB-BSNO-01): deliberately reburied, location unknown, no names/dates. Likely modern internet folklore — but by its own legend, untracked.
  • 🔒 SEALED — Ark of the Covenant (URB-ARK-01): claimed at the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion, Axum, Ethiopia; guarded by a single monk, uninspectable. Scholars report a replica. Status SEALED.
  • ☠️ REAL DEATHS — Pope Lick Monster (URB-POPE-01): the legend lures people onto a live railroad trestle in Louisville KY. People have actually died chasing it. This entry’s threat is not folkloric — it’s a real, physical kill-zone wearing a legend.

🟢 (the move is documented) | CURSE CONF: 🔴

The most-watched contained object in modern American folklore is, as of 2026, ON A TRUCK. The Warren artifact is being relocated on a business arrangement — which is the most SuperCluster thing imaginable: a "contained demonic entity" whose movements are dictated not by ritual but by a real-estate/branding deal. This is why the roster needed a new status. MOBILE-CONTAINMENT: the container holds, the coordinates change, and the thing to track is the OWNER, not the address. Whatever Annabelle is or isn't, the lesson is clean — in the modern age, even our monsters get logistics.

Narrative Containment (Normal Reality)
Native Reality
In its own reality, an attaching spirit at full power — an infesting entity that rides an object into a home and escalates from presence to harm; a conduit that does not need to be believed in to operate.
Containment Form
Contained in the Warren case files and occult- museum legend, hard-sealed by the Conjuring film cycle (Annabelle 2014, Creation, Comes Home) — a modern cell with a literal glass case as its physical analogue ("POSITIVELY DO NOT OPEN").
Leakage Vectors
One of the highest-pressure cells in modern folklore: a billion-dollar horror franchise, the viral "Annabelle is missing" tour hoax, and every museum retelling. The 2026 relocation is itself a leakage event — the story travels ahead of the truck.
Known Artifacts
The Raggedy Ann doll itself — the rare entry where the artifact IS the anchor: the physical residue and the contained entity share one address (currently changing). (See doctrine: narrative-containment-all-worlds-archive.md)
Nst Parallel
The trauma you've "contained" but keep moving with you. Containment is not integration; a bound thing carried from house to house is still in your life.

THE BASANO VASE

Entity ID
URB-BSNO-01
Classification
SC-CON
Containment Status
LOOSE
Last Known
UNKNOWN — deliberately reburied; no names, dates, places
Location Conf
🔴 | REALITY CONF: 🔴

The only entry in the entire containment roster with NO coordinates at all. By its own legend a silver wedding vase that kills its owners, reburied by authorities to get it off the market. The catch: the legend has no verifiable names, dates, or places — it reads as modern internet folklore. So it is doubly LOOSE: untracked by legend AND unverified as real. Logged here precisely BECAUSE it can't be located — a tracking roster has to note what it cannot find.

Narrative Containment (Normal Reality)
Native Reality
In its own reality, a death-bonded dowry object at full power — a silver wedding vase that executes whoever claims ownership; an inheritance-curse process with a total completion rate.
Containment Form
The weakest cell in the zone: anonymous internet folklore — listicles, creepypasta, paranormal blogs. No primary text, no named teller, no dated source. A cell with no bars — fitting, for the roster's only LOOSE asset.
Leakage Vectors
Cursed-object countdown videos and blog retellings, which are ALL this entity is — it may be pure leakage with no original cell at all: a story that was born already escaped.
Known Artifacts
By its own legend, exactly one — the vase, reburied at unknown coordinates. The only artifact in the manifest that is itself LOOSE. (See doctrine: narrative-containment-all-worlds-archive.md)
Nst Parallel
The dissociated, "buried" memory with no timestamp — the thing you know is somewhere in you but can't locate. You can't integrate what you can't find.

THE ARK OF THE COVENANT

Entity ID
URB-ARK-01
Classification
SC-CON
Containment Status
SEALED
Last Known
Claimed: Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion, Axum, Ethiopia
Location Conf
🔴 (single-guardian claim, uninspectable) | REALITY: 🔴

The most consequential relic in the canon and the one we can least confirm. Axum claims it; a single monk guards it; no one else may see it; scholars report a replica. That is the textbook definition of a new status: SEALED — a fixed, claimed location that is structurally uninspectable. Note the cross-zone link: the Ark is full HEAVEN-TECH (see `the-ark-doctrine.md`, `heaven-tech-complete-inventory.md`) — a dimensional interface device. If its Axum location is genuine, this is the highest-value heaven-tech artifact with a street address on Earth. If it's a replica, the real one is the canon's most important LOOSE asset. Either way, SEALED is the honest log.

Narrative Containment (Normal Reality)
Native Reality
In its own reality, full HEAVEN-TECH at full power — a dimensional interface device: manifestation platform, unauthorized-contact kill switch (Uzzah), battlefield decider, national power core.
Containment Form
Contained across Exodus, Samuel, and Kings, with a second, rival cell in the Kebra Nagast — the Ethiopian national epic that authored the Axum claim. Two scriptures, one object: a double-walled cell.
Leakage Vectors
Raiders of the Lost Ark — one of the most potent single leakage events in the modern archive — plus every expedition claim, documentary, and the Axum sanctuary discourse itself. The face-melting finale is now the culture's default image of heaven-tech mishandled.
Known Artifacts
The claimed object at Axum (SEALED, uninspectable), and — remarkably — the tabot: the consecrated Ark replica in every Ethiopian Orthodox altar. The one contained object that mass-produced its own physical echoes. (See doctrine: narrative-containment-all-worlds-archive.md)
Nst Parallel
The sacred core you've sealed away "for safekeeping" — protected so thoroughly that even you can't access it. Sometimes the most precious thing is the most walled-off.

Full per-entry citations, sightings, hoax-admissions, and source trails are in research-urban-legends-tracking-roster.md. Hoaxes flagged there and carried forward: Lizard Man (Orr, 1988), Loveland Frog (escaped iguana), Bunny Man bridge (no tie to the 1970 incidents), Goatman/Beltsville (officially denied). The Hope Diamond and Koh-i-Noor “curses” are documented marketing inventions — logged SC-SYS (personified function / publicity process), not as real entities.
