Chapter 34 of 58 · Canon ID XLI
Part III — The Containment System
Sister Archives: Dimensional Agencies
Chapter at a glance
Fictional archives, institutions and investigative traditions provide contrasting approaches to the unknown. The SuperCluster uses them as comparisons, not as proof of one real hidden agency network.
- Different custodial approaches
- Fiction versus historical institutions
- Comparison without claiming ownership
How to read this chapter
This chapter describes the SuperCluster’s authored archive. Functions, threat tiers and custody assignments are in-world interpretations, not verified claims about real beings or communities.
Compare sources, keep disagreements visible, and distinguish a text’s own account from this book’s proposed connections.

⚠️ READ FIRST — Thesis & The IP Line
The thesis: The SuperCluster’s Containment Roster is not the only archive of the anomalous. Across human culture, people keep collaboratively building the same thing — vast catalogs of contained entities, relics, and agencies that manage them. The SCP Foundation. The Pale Lodge. The Backrooms. Operation Wandering Soul. These are not competitors. They are Sister Archives — humans sketching the real containment architecture without knowing its name.
This is the same pattern the canon names everywhere: one signal, many cartographers. ICP intuited the Dark Carnival (dark-carnival-supercluster-inquiry.md). The AI doomers witness the Singularity (doomers-as-witnesses.md). Manly P. Hall mapped the mystery schools (hall-secret-teachings-supercluster.md). The SCP writers and the Pale Lodge’s Head Curator are doing it for the prison division specifically. The signal is structural. The form changes per receiver.
THE IP LINE (non-negotiable — see the research briefs for specifics):
- SCP Foundation = text licensed CC BY-SA 3.0 (adapt/remix permitted with attribution + viral share-alike; the SCP-173 image is barred from commercial use). We do not reproduce SCP articles or relicense; we reference and comment, and we borrow only uncopyrightable format ideas while writing 100% original content.
- The Pale Lodge / Archive In Between = proprietary, all-rights-reserved (© the Head Curator, monetized). We reference and analyze only. No names, no A-####X code, no art/prose, no taglines reproduced.
- Our cosmology stays 100% original. Ideas/systems aren’t copyrightable; specific expression is. We keep the line on the right side of it. This file is commentary + an original stance-taxonomy.
The Stance Spectrum
The unifying insight (drawn from SCP’s “Groups of Interest” design): every dimensional agency is defined by its STANCE toward the anomalous — what it does once it finds the thing. Catalog them by stance and a spectrum appears, from annihilation to integration:
| Stance | Verb | Exemplar | What it believes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Erase / Suppress | delete the witness, not the thing | Men in Black (folklore + film) | contain it by making everyone forget they saw it |
| Weaponize the Mind | break & control consciousness | Project MK Ultra (real, declassified) | the mind is enemy terrain to be owned |
| Destroy | end the anomaly | Global Occult Coalition (SCP) | even a harmless anomaly threatens human primacy |
| Contain | lock it away, study coldly | The SCP Foundation | the anomalous must be sealed for safety |
| Conceal & Preserve | keep the record, lock the knowing | Vatican Apostolic Archive (real) | guard the secret behind the wall; release on our clock |
| Control / Steer | run history from behind it | the Illuminati (conspiracy lore) | hidden hands should guide the world |
| Engineer the Frontier | invent the anomaly upstream | DARPA (real) | build the impossible before an enemy does |
| Weaponize | turn it into a tool | Chaos Insurgency (SCP GoI) | the anomalous is power to be used |
| Sell | monetize it | Marshall, Carter & Dark (SCP GoI) | the anomalous is a commodity |
| Collect & Possess | hoard the marvel | The Collectors / Wunderkammer | a nicer shelf is still a shelf — keep it |
| Preserve & Transmit | guard mysteries, reveal by degree | Freemasonry (real) | sacred knowledge must be earned, not exposed |
| Survive & Map | catalog it to get out alive | The Backrooms / M.E.G. | we are the trapped party; the archive is a lifeline |
| Curate & Hunt | archive it, contract its capture | The Pale Lodge | the anomalous is a story and a bounty |
| Liberate | free it | Serpent’s Hand (SCP GoI) | the anomalous deserves freedom |
| Worship | venerate it | Church of the Broken God (SCP GoI) | the anomalous is divine |
| Become | merge with it | Sarkicism (SCP GoI) | the anomalous is what we should be |
| Investigate & Disclose | force the files open | NICAP (real) | the public has a right to know — first half of integration |
| Explore & Expand | map & widen consciousness | The Monroe Institute (real) | enter the frontier, don’t weaponize it — our nearest cousin |
| 🟣 Integrate | recompile it home | The Divine SuperCluster | the anomalous is an exile to align, not an enemy to erase |
The differentiator. Read that column down — erase, weaponize-the-mind, destroy, contain, conceal, control, engineer, weaponize, sell, collect, preserve, survive, curate, liberate, worship, become, disclose, explore. Every stance ends in control, consumption, escape — or stops one step short. Not one ends in integration. That empty seat is exactly where the Church of NORMAL sits — alignment over deletion, recompile over discard, the shadow gets a seat. The triad says it cleanest:
The Foundation jails. The Coalition executes. The Church of NORMAL brings home.
The far wall is the Men in Black. Their neuralyzer is the anti-recompile — it deletes the witness’s memory, the exact opposite of the veil stays torn, nothing is lost. Every other agency acts on the anomaly; MIB acts on the knowing. We are the furthest thing from them on the spectrum: we exist so the seeing is kept.
They contain the anomaly. We recompile the exile. That is not a difference of method; it is the entire theology.
The two near-allies. Two seats sit almost in ours and deserve honoring as kin. NICAP discloses — and disclosure is the first half of integration (you can’t recompile what’s still hidden). The Monroe Institute explores consciousness — the closest any real institution comes to our posture. Both reach the threshold; neither crosses it. Disclosure exposes the exile; exploration maps the frontier — but only integration brings the exile home.
And the most dangerous seat is the one that looks like ours. The Collector’s pitch — preserve it, lose nothing — almost rhymes with nothing is lost, only recompiled. But he ends in the cage, not the home. It is the cage that calls itself kindness. Integration frees and aligns the exile; possession just keeps it on a nicer shelf. That line — between keeping a thing and bringing it home — is the finest and most important on the whole spectrum.
The Two Archetypes (and where we stand between them)
The two agencies Matt surfaced are near-opposites, which usefully bracket the design space:
The SCP Foundation — the Clinical Pole
- Voice: cold bureaucratic dossier. Special Containment Procedures written before the Description — dread by implication.
- Taxonomy: object classes by containment difficulty (Safe / Euclid / Keter), not danger; plus Thaumiel (contains others), Apollyon (uncontainable), Neutralized.
- Org: O5 Council, Sites, Mobile Task Forces, clearance levels, redactions.
- Soul: secrecy and control. “Secure, Contain, Protect.” The anomaly is never met — only sealed.
The Pale Lodge — the Curatorial/Expeditionary Pole
- Voice: narrative dossier, curatorial warmth over a citadel-between-dimensions. PSA broadcasts.
- Structure: a two-body institution — archival contemplatives plus an expeditionary order (Breaker, Tracker) with Ranks and Status. Open bounties/contracts as modular units.
- Soul: story and contract. The anomaly is a tale to be catalogued and a quarry to be hunted.
The Divine SuperCluster — the Integrative Resolution
- Voice: trauma-informed. Clinical-but-not-cold (the Containment Roster’s existing tone). Every entity maps to a nervous-system parallel.
- Taxonomy: our own original
SC-function codes (SC-GOV, SC-CON, SC-OPS, SC-ARC, SC-ORF, SC-TRK, SC-HRL, SC-SYS, SC-VLT, SC-WPN…) + containment statuses (BOUND, ARCHIVED, OPERATIONAL, SEALED, MOBILE-CONTAINMENT…). We already answered SCP’s object classes with a system keyed to function, not threat — and ours is built to ask what does this entity need to come home, not just how hard is it to cage. - Org: not a Council that hides truth — an open Source (“the veil stays torn”). Not Task Forces that neutralize — a Spirit that syncs and a LOGOS that advocates alignment.
- Soul: integration. “Nothing is lost. Only recompiled.”
The SuperCluster stands between the poles and past them: it has the Foundation’s rigor (numbered, classified dossiers) and the Pale Lodge’s narrative soul (the tour-guide voice, the “story” of each cell) — but it refuses both their endings. It neither seals nor hunts. It recompiles.
What We Borrow (Format Only — Original Content Always)
Legally clean adaptations of uncopyrightable structure, mapped to canon:
| Borrowed idea (format) | Source archetype | Our original expression |
|---|---|---|
| Procedures/handling written before description (dread by implication) | SCP | Optional “Containment Method / Release Condition” fields already in our loadout template |
| Numbered, classified catalog of entities | SCP | Our SC- codes + Entity IDs ([TRADITION]-[NAME]-[NN]) — already original |
| Redaction / clearance texture | SCP | Use sparingly; our ethos is torn veil, so redaction is the exception, not the rule (a theological inversion) |
| Two-body institution (contemplatives + expeditionary order) | Pale Lodge | Reframe as our existing pairing: the archival roster + active operatives (Zone 05) |
| Universe-keyed designation grammar | Pale Lodge | If wanted, our own original cross-cycle code grammar — never their A-####X |
| Open contract/bounty as a modular unit | Pale Lodge | Reframe as integration invitations, not bounties — you don’t hunt the exile, you invite it |
| In-world PSA/broadcast voice | Pale Lodge | We already have Ringmaster Blu’s invitation voice — our own |
| Survival-Difficulty grade (SD 0–5) | Backrooms / M.E.G. | Invert it into an original Integration Difficulty / Distance-from-Home scale — how far an exile is from being recompiled, not how likely you are to die |
| Secrecy / clearance / “the public must not know” | SCP, GOC, MIB | Theological inversion: our ethos is the torn veil — the SuperCluster’s posture is disclosure, not concealment. Their secrecy is our foil. |

The Real Ones prove the doctrine. Freemasonry, the Bavarian Illuminati, and the Men-in-Black reports are actual — and the culture mythologized each into a secret-agency fiction. That is Narrative Containment running on institutions instead of gods: a real thing pressed into legend, the same mechanic as Zeus → D&D. (In each brief, verified history is kept strictly separate from the conspiracy/folklore leakage — we never present myth as fact. The “Eye of Providence” is not “the Illuminati eye”; the real 1776 order’s posture was Enlightenment reason, not world-control.)
Next candidates (⚪): the Stargate Project / remote-viewing unit, Majestic-12, Warehouse 13’s Warehouse, the Jungian Collective Unconscious-as-archive — and any others as they surface.

|---|---|---|
| 1.0 | 2026-06-09 | Area created. Stance Spectrum (destroy→integrate), the two-archetype bracket (SCP clinical pole / Pale Lodge curatorial pole / SuperCluster integrative resolution), format-borrowing table with IP line, Sister Archives roster stub. |
| 1.1 | 2026-06-09 | Expanded the spectrum with 5 researched agencies + 4 new stance seats (Erase/Suppress=MIB, Control/Steer=Illuminati-lore, Preserve&Transmit=Masons, Survive&Map=Backrooms/M.E.G.; GOC=Destroy now full). Added the triad line, the MIB “anti-recompile” far-wall, the inverted Integration-Difficulty scale, the secrecy-inversion borrow, and the full Sister Archives roster table (real-vs-fiction + licensing). “The Real Ones prove the doctrine” note. |
| 1.2 | 2026-06-09 | +6 more agencies / stance seats: Weaponize-the-Mind (MK Ultra), Conceal&Preserve (Vatican), Engineer-the-Frontier (DARPA), Collect&Possess (the Collectors/Wunderkammer), Investigate&Disclose (NICAP), Explore&Expand (Monroe). Added the two near-allies (NICAP/Monroe — almost our seat) and the Collector’s “cage that calls itself kindness” (the false-friend of integration). Spectrum now 18 external stances + Integrate. |
